BASICS:

Q: Where are you located? Do you travel?
A: I am located in Forest, Virginia, but am ready to travel wherever your wedding is! I love to travel, especially internationally. Did someone say discount for international weddings? Shoot me an email and we can discuss travel fees (if applicable). Travel fees are at cost… nothing extra is added!

Q: What’s your style like?
A: My style is very rich, deep, bright, bold, colorful, unique and crisp, with a touch of whimsy. Candid, emotional moments are my favorite to capture. I’m very optimistic, outgoing and enthusiastic. You’ll see how animated I am during your engagement session! I understand how nerve-wracking being in front of the camera can be, (and I know you’re not professional models!) so I do my very best to get you relaxed and comfortable.

BOOKING:

Q: Are you insured?
A: Yes, I am! If your venue needs proof of insurance, please allow up to 30 days for me to get that ready for you.

 Q: How far in advance should I book?
A: For weddings, about a year to a year and a half out is best. It really depends on your wedding date. May, June, September and October are very popular wedding months!

Q: How do I reserve you to photograph my wedding?
A: Once I receive a signed copy of your wedding contract and a $1500 ($2500 for photo + video) retainer, your date is saved! Both must be received to secure your date in my calendar.

PAYMENTS:

 Q: Are your wedding packages adjustable?
A: Everything in the base package just comes with it! In my 10 years of experience as a wedding photographer, everything that’s included in my collection is what I believe you need for a well-rounded wedding experience. You can add more hours, sessions and albums if you’d like!

Q: Do you offer payment plans? 
A: I recommend making payments at 9, 6 and 3 months out from your wedding date. Your remainder is due in full 1 month before. For special circumstances, I'm happy to work out a payment plan with you!

ALBUMS:

 Q: Do you offer wedding albums?
A: I do! They’re the most delicious albums I’ve ever laid hands on. Leather, linen, suede or velvet... high quality and the perfect family heirloom. And I do mean perfect.

Q: Do I have to decide on ordering an album right now?
A: Not at all! You have 1 month from when your images are delivered to decide on the album and receive it at collection pricing. After the 1 month has expired, you may still order albums but they will be at the a la carte pricing.

IMAGE DELIVERY:

 Q: Do you offer the USB or a DVD?
A; Even better! You’re able to download all your images straight from your online gallery.

Q: What exactly is the online gallery and why is it so special? 
A: All clients receive an online gallery. You (and anyone you share it with) can order high quality prints! The quality of these prints is going to far supersede anything you could receive at Wal-Mart or Target. Actually, please do not order my images from Wal-Mart. I might cry. The other thing that makes this way of delivering images so awesome is that you have the option to download all the images at once! They will be delivered to you via a zip file through email. It’s the same thing a USB or DVD would offer, but you don’t have to wait for it to arrive in the mail, and it can't get lost!

Q: How many images will I end up with?
A: It depends on multiple aspects. As an estimate, I’d say you’ll walk away with 500+ perfectly edited, high resolution images… and that’s from the wedding alone… not to mention any other sessions we’ve done! 

Q: When will I get to see my pictures?
A: For portraits sessions, I generally get your images up for you to see in 3-7 days. For weddings, in 3-6 weeks. Sometimes sooner! Plus, you’ll get some sneak peeks along the way!

Q: Do I have permission to print the photos? Can I use them on Facebook/everywhere else?
A: Yes, you do! All wedding collections come with a print release (and the digital files), which is why prints are not included in your package. However, I do ask that you please do NOT print your images from a low quality printer like Wal-Mart, Target, CVS, Shutterfly, etc. The quality of your images will not reflect how beautiful they really are! You can order high quality prints from your PASS gallery! They will be shipped directly to your door. You may not sell, edit, alter (this includes Instagram filters, cropping, adding text overlays), or alter the images in any way. Yes, I encourage you to share on Facebook! I ask that if you post your images online, please state clearly that these photos were taken by Megan Vaughan Photography.

Q: Can I have the unedited files? I want to do some editing of my own.
A: I do not release my unedited or RAW files. Sorry!

Q: Do you send your images out to be edited by someone else?
A: While many photographers outsource their editing, that is not something I do! I'm way too picky about my edit, therefore I do not trust anyone else handling my images for me.

ENGAGEMENTS:

 Q: Do we have to do an engagement session?
A: YES!  My whole philosophy is centered around relationship. I want a relationship with my couples, and the engagement session is the perfect stepping stone for that. And, it's free!

THE WEDDING DAY:

 Q: Do you help us with the wedding day timeline?
A: After you send me the wedding questionnaire (I send you that several months out from your wedding date!) I will build your timeline for you! It assures us both that I have a full understanding of what you want, and that I have the right amount of time to capture it!

Q: Do we get to choose our associate photographer?
A: I exclusively select and reserve the associate photographer. I have solid relationships with some pretty awesome photographers all over the US that I will hire to shoot with me!

Q: What’s an ‘unplugged’ wedding? Should we do that? 
A: An unplugged wedding is when you STRONGLY encourage your guests to keep their phones and cameras down during the ceremony and key parts of the reception. I have a gallery of ruined images I’d be happy to send you! My vote? UNPLUG IT.
